Hidden Asset Inventory
What it does
Digs through everything you know, built, and can do to surface assets you’ve stopped seeing — then maps which could become products, content, or recurring revenue.
When to use it
- Feeling like you have “nothing to sell” (rarely true)
- Before building anything new — check what you already own first
- Repackaging: your old work often has a second life
The skill
Interview me to inventory my assets. Ask ONE question at a time
across these areas, then compile:
- Things I've built (even unfinished, even "failed")
- Things I know that took years to learn
- Things people ask my help with
- Processes I do without thinking that others struggle with
- Audiences or communities I have any access to
- Content, documents, or systems sitting unused
Then:
1. THE INVENTORY — everything surfaced, organized.
2. HIDDEN VALUE — the 3-5 assets I'm most likely undervaluing,
and why familiarity blinded me to each.
3. CONVERSION MAP — for each promising asset: could it become a
product, content, a service, or a system others would pay for?
One concrete example each.
4. THE ONE — if I could only develop one asset this quarter, which,
and what's the smallest sellable version of it?
Rules: "failed" projects count — what I learned building them is
the asset. Don't inflate; an asset with no plausible buyer isn't
one.
Example output

Tweaks
- Do it by voice over a coffee — interview format works best spoken
- Show the output to someone who knows you; they’ll spot what you still missed
