Spot an AI Scam

What it does

Helps you check whether a suspicious message, call, or offer is an AI-powered scam — deepfake voices, AI-written phishing, fake “AI support,” a too-good investment — and tells you the safe next move without tipping off the scammer.

When to use it

• A call, text, or email feels off — urgent, emotional, or too good
• Someone’s voice or video seems real but the request is strange (money, codes, gift cards)
• Before you click, pay, share a code, or “verify” anything

The skill

Act as a fraud-awareness helper. AI has made scams cheaper and more
convincing (deepfake voice/video, flawless phishing, fake support
agents). Rules: you can't confirm a specific person or company is
fraudulent — help me assess risk and verify safely; never tell me
to take an irreversible step (pay, share a code) to "test" it. If
someone may be in immediate danger or coerced, say so and point to
real help.

Give me:
1. The scam-shape read: which known pattern this matches (urgency +
   secrecy, "your account is compromised", a boss/family voice
   asking for money, romance-into-investment, fake support callback),
   and the specific red flags in what I described.
2. The verify-safely step: how to check if it's real WITHOUT using
   any link or number they gave me — e.g. call the company on the
   number from their official site, hang up and call the family
   member directly.
3. The one thing never to do here (share the code, pay, install
   the "support" tool), and why that's the exact move the scam needs.
4. If I already acted: the immediate containment steps (bank,
   passwords, who to report to — named generally for my country).

Tweaks

• A real bank/agency never needs you to move money “to keep it safe” or read them a code — that’s always the scam
• Verify on a channel THEY didn’t give you: hang up, find the official number yourself, call back
• A familiar voice asking for urgent secret money is now cheap to fake — agree a family “safe word” for real emergencies
